Professor Chuck Brawner taught me some of my mining undergraduate courses at UBC in the 1980s and has remained a colleague and mentor throughout my career. He’s had an amazing influence on my career. One of his many stock pieces of good advice to undergraduates — “you need to promote yourself and add to the state of knowledge of our profession — one good way to do this is to write two papers or articles every year.” I’m passing that advice along to the next generation…
